NYU student Brian Sandro has a secret: he and his friends pirate hundreds of millions of dollars of illicit Hollywood movies in their spare time. They are revered, reviled, hunted and admired. No one knows who they are - at least, not as far as they know.

Welcome to the Scene is a 20 part web series about people in the online movie piracy ' scene'. It takes place in the format of a screen capture of IRC chat sessions and sometimes a 'live feed' picture in picture of the person typing and narrating the individual episode. Over the course of the series the main character Brian has financial problems with his fathers illness and lacks tution funds for NYU., he is forced to sabotage a release of the group so it can first be physically pirated on the streets of China. Other events occur then a member of the group gets the others a coded message that he has been compromised by the FBI. The other members then spend the remaining episodes in damage control while they are hunted down until they disband and apparently evade arrest.
