For quite some time now, William H. has proven himself to be one of Elegant Angel's most competent and dependable directors. He possesses a gift (rare in the porn industry) of knowing exactly where the camera is going next. He never wastes time searching for the right angle, and he goes out of his way to avoid repeating the same shots over and over.
So when you put the amazing Eva Angelina in front of William H.'s camera, it's perfectly reasonable to expect nothing less than lightning in a bottle. Since making her comeback to the industry earlier this year, Eva has been determined to prove that she hasn't lost anything. That she is, in fact, wilder and open to even more new adventures in the world of smut. Evalutionary tries hard, very hard to live up to these expectations, and the title's clever play on words only adds fuel to the fire.

Unfortunately, this movie doesn't really take off until the final scene, which features the hyped double penetration. Leading up to it, we get to see the obligatory dance tease intros, Eva and friends in a variety of skimpy outfits, and a variety of expertly-shot and edited sex scenes. As good as the whole package is, it can't avoid that feeling of "e;Been there, done that."e; The tease sequences are fun but redundant. Plus, they're rendered nearly pointless when the following sex scene has the girls back in their clothes. Are we supposed to forget they just stripped out of them in an artistic dance montage? Also, I question the sequence of chapters. Should there really be two boy/girl/girl scenes in consecutive order?

Keep in mind that I've been focusing on how this title meets expectations. If you're already a fan of Elegant Angel's movies, you may share some of my reservations. Or you may not. But if you're fairly new to the game, than rest assured that this is still an entertaining and well-crafted piece of porn moviemaking. This Blu-ray edition is especially spectacular in regards to its picture quality. Audio is only 2-channel, but its clean and clear, and dialogue is always coherent. Evalutionary is a very good movie that suffers only from its heritage.
