Dr. Lodge, who specializes in inbreeding, conducts a group therapy class that includes Mrs. Joyce McBride. The story unfolds as Dr. Lodge's daughters, Naomi and Robin, return home to a fractured family after he discovers his wife in a compromising situation with his brother. The family splits: Robin stays with their father, while Naomi moves in with their mother and Uncle Billy.

Naomi develops an attraction to Uncle Billy, heightened by her observations of the dynamics between him and her mother. Meanwhile, aware of the inbreeding therapy group, Robin encourages Junior McBride to seduce his mother, which ignites her own latent desires related to inbreeding.
