Playboy Magazine: History, Content and Controversy

Playboy Magazine is an American men's lifestyle and entertainment publication founded in Chicago in 1953 by Hugh Hefner and his associates. It wasinitially financed with a$1,000 loan from Hefner's mother. The magazine features nude photographs of women, journalism, fiction, and non-fiction features and columns.

Over the years, Playboy Enterprises has grown to include divisions spanning television, music, films, fragrances, apparel, and online content. The Playboy brand is one of the most recognizable in the world.

Playboy is published in the United States, with special nation-specific editions available globally. The Russian edition, Playboy Россия, is published bimonthly in Russian. It features content tailored to Russian readers while still maintaining the core Playboy brand and format.

The January-February 2015 issue of Playboy Россия contains 152 pages of content.
