Plot Summary: In "An Honest Living," Amelia, a diligent and honest housemaid, struggles with the decision to confront her employer, Mr. Winters, about an important issue that has been weighing on her for months. When she finally approaches him, her nerves prevent her from speaking, leading Mr. Winters to misinterpret her silence as shyness about requesting a raise.
