Plot Summary: Amelia, a dedicated and honest housemaid, is anxious as she prepares to confront her employer, Mr. Winters, about a matter that has been troubling her. However, when she finally stands before him, her nervousness prevents her from speaking, leading Mr. Winters to mistakenly assume she is merely shy about requesting a raise. Feeling defeated, Amelia returns to her duties in the kitchen, where she encounters Adam, Mr. Winters' son.
